Historians debate whether the Italian Greyhound was bread as a companion or a hunting dog, but by the 1600’s, the breed was seen throughout Europe and became very popular in Italy. Despite this breeds small size the Italian Greyhound is a true sighthound. They get along well with other dogs and bond strongly with their owners. This breed has a well-developed prey drive and will chase small animals. These dogs are very loving, caring and affectionate but can be a little shy around strangers. The Italian Greyhound loves to curl up with its owner. This would be a great choice for urban dog lovers.
